Hookah Bliss owner Adam Bliss knows that the North Carolina government said that there is a tobacco ban now.

Bliss knows that he was supposed to close. But The Hookah bar on Franklin Street refuses.  Bliss sees hypocrisies and double standards to large to ignore. In fact, Bliss would appreciate a few citations and a court date if North Carolina would be so kind.

See the Tobacco ban In North Carolina isn’t really a Tobacco ban entirely.  The Herald Sun reported the details like this.

There are exemptions. But Hookah bars are not included in the exemptions.

Cigar bars are exempted.

A cigar bar that makes 60 percent of its quarterly business from alcohol sales and at-least 25 percent of its quarterly sales from cigars is exempt.

Tobacco shops in North Carolina are also exempt because Tobacco shops makes at-least 75 percent of its quarterly revenue from the sale of Tobacco and Tobacco products while not serving food or alcohol.

And outside Patio smoking seems to acceptable.

Hookah Bliss says that to stay open it may have to change the whole vibe of his bar and stop selling drinks. Bliss tells the Herald Sun that it “makes you wonder whether this law was really about tobacco or alcohol.”

Bliss seems to be arguing that the logic of a bill that is going to take him out of business is to flimsy to destroy his life work, his investments.

Bliss’s logic seems to say that if you’re going to destroy all these businesses and claim it’s a health issue, then shouldn’t the richer cigar smokers have to join in for the peoples health. And if people are gonna lose their income, it should make more sense then this why their being forced to do it.

“(The state government says) this is an employee health issue. But they automatically exempted four different types of places, and notice all those places are where the rich older males go, where the legislators are more likely to go, and they’re saying that the employees that work in the places where they like to smoke do not deserve the protection that the average employee who works in an average bar deserves.”

This is not so much about a lawsuit as about fighting a ticket on the grounds that the law is unfair,” Bliss said to the news. “We are not going to stop serving and we are not closed.”

Hookah Bliss has not yet been ticketed. Tickets are possible if the Department of health receives a complaint. The Hookah bar gets 2 warnings and then will be ticketed 200 dollars.

response to overstatements

When I started at Ed Hardy Hookah I made a commitment to be honest, fair and to appreciate hookah culture even over the Ed hardy brand. The reason this is so important to me is because Hookah companies and their bosses today spend so much time rejecting each-other they ruin Hookah culture for the readers.

I don’t want Ed Hardy Hookah to ever be seen or act as the scared, half truth telling company that I know many other Hookah and Tobacco companies are. So many Hookah Tobacco companies act like scared and weak people forever afraid that someone will buy another tobacco or hookah. or go to another hookah bar. We need to change hookahs companies to be about the Hookah culture and its patron, not the hookah Tobacco company.

proud of our Ed hardy Hookah's

This  afraid and defensive personality permeates Hookah lounges and Hookah companies and Tobacco shops across our industry. It’s why hookah forums and the hookah community can get so twisted. It’s why so many customers never fully appreciate Hookah culture. The customer is treated like they have to be loyal to us instead of us being loyal to the customer.

True Hookah King looks over first Ed Hardy Hookahs

True hookah King has started to win a lot of respect from Ed Hardy Hookah for how he seems to want to tell his actual opinion in his hookah reviews; something that has caught him some heat from a lot of hookah bars and Hookah companies.

Being a hookah reviewer is tough. The Hookah business is filled with so many fake opinions and political back scratchings that I don’t know how someone stays honest these days. Now I’m sure Ed Hardy Hookah will not always make the True Hookah King happy. We would like it if when we did make the True hookah king happy, we knew it was because we had made a great shisha, or another great hookah. The last thing we want is to be thought of as a company that gets dishonest hookah reviews.

We are putting Hookah Kings review up, not because we’ve talked to him and worked out a deal. But because we like how he honestly speaks his mind. This time he seems to like how our hookahs look. Ed hardy hookah wants to support the honest hookah culture.

We also want to encourage the True Hookah King to stay honest. Don’t make deals with Hookah companies and don’t let Hookah companies expect anything from you. Just speak your review honestly. maybe the real market is in being completely honest in Hookah while so many are being fake.

And we also put up the review cause of what sounds like porn in the back.

getting away from bars and smoke your own hookah

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on January 13, 2010 by Abraham Appel

Relax. Thats the point of smoking a hookah. Smoking hookah is to appreciate the calmness of the moment as you drag in the fruit flavored tobacco.  Even if your in a party and there is dancing and laughter, the Hookah smoke relaxes you as you breath it in; gives you time to reflect.

If you are a Hookah smoker at the hookah lounges, set aside a night to get away from the hookah bars and find a place to smoke on your porch, garage or beach.

Go to your hookah bar the night before and order some Ed Hardy Hookah from them, so that the hookah bar still gets your business, or order online from us. And then the next night go home, watch tv and smoke an argileh (Hookah).

respect the oldschool

In the traditional way of thinking, Hookah bars do not teach the smoker to make their own hookahs. And this ruins the patience and care of creating your own hookah and relaxing to your own Hookah and shisha creation.

Smoking Hookah should change with the times, but let yourself understand the history by getting away from the Hookah bar and smoking as they did back in the day. Invite a few friends over, make your own Ed Hardy Hookah and enjoy sometime relaxing at home with your tobacco.

All to often we smoke so much at the Hookah bars that the Hookah bars become taxing on our lives. Hookah smoking is supposed to be the relaxing part of the day, not the part of the day that taxes our day.
