North Carolinas smoking ban becoming puzzle.

Its looking like this could get messy.

As we’ve reported at Ed Hardy Smoking, the Smoking ban in North Carolina took effect on January 1st. 2010.  The law mostly said that cigar bars could stay open, but all indoor smoking had to cease.

Originally The Bill was accompanied by a softer tone and his date MS. Loopholes.

The state is not looking for indoor smoking. They have set up a line that can be called anonymously. If a phone call comes in then a state office sends out the letter. It takes two letters to get a ticket. Some Hookah bars wondered if anyone should even worry about the smoking ban. Other Hookah bars closed.

For North Carolina cigaret smokers this rule may not be as severe.

Remember, California outlawed smoking back around 1997. But because cigarets are a person’s property and compact and mobile people have become accustomed to smoking quickly outside. But hookah bars are still running in CA, most likely, due to exemptions written into the law.

In North Carolina the hookah bars were not able to get this exemption. By not being written into the law, the Hookah bars are widely believed to be in violation of the law because these Hookah bars are serving Shisha inside of an establishment.

What can make this hard to report is that its all speculation. Some hookah bars have devoted themselves to pooling their money together and defending the first Hookah bar that has to go to court. Other Hookah bars have moved their Hookahs outside into the cold North Carolina elements and appear to be fully within the boundaries of the law.

Days before the law went into effect one hookah bar tweeted “F the smoking ban … We are still smoking … I am right now!!” Yet this same Tweeter who owns The Hookah Bar in downtown Asheville, North Carolina, actually said he complies with the smoke ban because he is now serving a tea based Hookah not tobacco.

In Chapel Hill, North Carolina, Hookah Bliss, has begun begging for a ticket so that they can take the state to court. Hookah Bliss bases its argument on accusations of hypocrisy. The cigar lounges were exempted. According to Hookah Bliss’s owner, Adam Bliss, this is because legislators and rich men smoke at the cigar lounges. And in this Bliss calls foul.

Juggling Gypsy also has all types of state. And now smoking a Hookah is truly an art

In Wilmington, North Carolina, a hookah bar, Juggling Gypsy, changed itself into an entertainment parlor and believes it complies to the Smoking ban because it places everyone smoking on a “stage,” to be filmed by an internet camera making them a performer. If everyone is a performer, say the Juggling Gypsy, then they are exempt though the loophole that says smoking is allowed on a stage and during a performance.

But the state has received 400 +complaints concerning state wide smoking violations. The state met with the Juggling Gypsy last week and says the ball is in their court now.

Oh and “Besides owners, individuals who refuse to snuff their smokes also could be fined $50.”

Starbuzz Blue-mist. Smooth; sexy: just like Ed Hardy Hookah.

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on January 21, 2010 by Abraham Appel

Ed Hardy Hookahs are good for any of the Hookah brands.

But over the last week I’ve been thinking about what Tobacco flavor is a sexy enough and smooth enough Hookah flavor that fits the Ed Hardy Hookah’s image.

What should I tell you is a flavor that you should order to go with the Ed Hardy Hookah? What Hookah flavor can add that special enhancement to your customers and make everything more special when you first start giving you Hookah friends the Ed Hardy Hookah.

smooth, sexy, shaped to perfection

StarBuzz’s Blue Mist is a flavor that I think fits the vibe of the nightclub and the super chill smoking image of Ed Hardy Hookah. StarBuzz Blue Mist is  just that deep, bite your lip and place your head back and breath out the smoke refreshing taste. StarBuzz Blue Mist is super cool with the right type of sarcastic bite.

So this morning we talked with StarBuzz Tobacco and ordered some Blue Mist StarBuzz Tobacco and as a gesture of goodwill we wanted to tell you about it.

Starbuzz Blue mist, for those who still don’t know was a Hookah flavor that revolutionized Hookah smoke. Hookah flavors had gotten stuck in only fruit names, easy to identify. Blue Mist became an instant classic at the Local Hookah bars in So Cal. And is now a staple of the Hookah smoke.

Blue Mist Hookah Tobacco Is something that I think will add to your friends and Patrons smoking out of your Ed Hardy Hookah.

Ed Hardy and hookahs.

All Ed Hardy Hookah has done is add to the selection of hookah’s. We work in hookah because we love the smokey culture.

We created Ed Hardy hookah because Ed hardy is a person who represents everything America at its best is about. He is the same story every immigrant dreams of.

A hard worker who came out of the counter-culture through talent, hard work and using his intelligence to back up his individuality and rebelliousness with the bravery to follow his passions. Ed Hardy used his god- given talents to struggle a living out of the toughness of life.  Ed Hardy made it to college, gave it up to follow his passions and then made it in tattoos when tattoos were not accepted.

Ed Hardy was bloody good at tattoos. And he worked his way out of the struggle, sold his art and now finally does his own work, finally can devote his life to what he loves; His own paintings.

I read on a  hookah forum that “just based on the principal of what Ed Hardy stands for in the shisha world upsets me.” This same person turned down our tobacco for no reason. The price was good. And had he smoked the Ed Hardy Tobacco it would have been great. It was just this  invisible Ed Hardy meaning he claims to represent.

What does Ed Hardy Hookah stand for? allow me again  to point you to the life of Ed Hardy for what Ed hardy Hookah stands for. Stand for what you want. We Already know who Ed Hardy Hookah is.

Ed Hardy Hookah  stands for Individuality.

Ed Hardy Hookah stand for small companies working hard against the status que to create something new and better.

Ed Hardy Hookah stand for having nothing but the quality of our work speak for us.

Ed Hardy Hookah stand for the working class.

We do not stand for the billion dollar brand of Ed Hardy Shirts. We stand for the meaning of the tats on those shirts. Ed Hardy Hookah stands for the story that created those tats.

response to overstatements

When I started at Ed Hardy Hookah I made a commitment to be honest, fair and to appreciate hookah culture even over the Ed hardy brand. The reason this is so important to me is because Hookah companies and their bosses today spend so much time rejecting each-other they ruin Hookah culture for the readers.

I don’t want Ed Hardy Hookah to ever be seen or act as the scared, half truth telling company that I know many other Hookah and Tobacco companies are. So many Hookah Tobacco companies act like scared and weak people forever afraid that someone will buy another tobacco or hookah. or go to another hookah bar. We need to change hookahs companies to be about the Hookah culture and its patron, not the hookah Tobacco company.

proud of our Ed hardy Hookah's

This  afraid and defensive personality permeates Hookah lounges and Hookah companies and Tobacco shops across our industry. It’s why hookah forums and the hookah community can get so twisted. It’s why so many customers never fully appreciate Hookah culture. The customer is treated like they have to be loyal to us instead of us being loyal to the customer.

In san diego: try Hookah bar called The Living Room.

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on January 12, 2010 by Abraham Appel

Hookah smokers are a little too much like bears hibernating every night in their cave.

So when we Hookah-cubs are forced out of our normal hunting grounds; we can feel a little lost.

So Ed Hardy Hookah is searching for the best hookah bars. We’re gonna start where we remember going over time when we left our Home base. We’re hoping you’ll suggest a few hookah bars from around the world that we can spotlight as well.

The first Hookah bar I would suggest to you if you were in San Diego, CA  is the Living room

Living room coffe, food and Hookah: bringing everyone together.

According to the Living room website “Since…1991, The Living Room has grown from its original location in the San Diego State University area, to a total of 6 Cafe’s: La Jolla, Point Loma, Historic Old Town San Diego, Southwestern College National City and Southwestern College Otay Mesa. The newest addition (was at)UCSD – Price Center (in) 2008.”

The Living room is a spectacular Hookah bar and coffee shop with a style that is unmatched by any hookah bar in San Diego. Sophisticated with a touch of hometown crass. A nice cross between hookah club and Coffee shop with its own set of regulars mixed with a constant newbie feel to it.

What makes The Living Room so special is that it is more than a place that serves shisha. It is a two-story coffee shop and restaurant in the heart of Down town La Jolla with a second story bar and hookah bar.

It is wonderful looking down at down town as the clubs get out and watching the people walk around and enjoying the Diego air.

It’s expensive. Around 20 dollars for a Hookah. But if it isnt gonna stress you out to spend that much I would suggest going down to San Diego and enjoying the vibes and the view and the great atmosphere. Another advantage of The living room is the wide variety of food.
